Get early access to Belt Desktop

Run AI on your own computer to triage your inbox, track where your time goes automatically, and analyze sensitive attachments, without sending your data to the cloud.

A Postcard from San Francisco

Nov 24, 2025

Four days at Microsoft Ignite and one theme kept coming up in every booth, lounge, stage: most work still hides in messages. We heard it from partners, users, and teams who spend their days inside Outlook, Gmail, and Teams. Belt Desktop exists to pull that work into the open, and then help you move it, fast.

What we showed

Belt Desktop brings hybrid AI to the tools you already live in. On-device for sensitive work (via Foundry Local on compatible NPUs), with cloud when collaboration and scale matter. That means you can ask AI on the live thread or attachment (right in your inbox) without shuttling data around.

How it actually helps

  • See what matters first: Belt sorts your inbox so the messages you need to act on show up first.

  • One calendar for everything: Tasks, deadlines, and meetings all appear on the same calendar.

  • Time gets blocked for you: Belt puts a time block on your calendar for the task so you actually have space to do it.

  • Long threads, short summary: Belt gives you the key points and next steps from a long email chain in seconds.

  • Team load is clear: Belt shows who has room and who’s overloaded with simple colors.

  • Everything stays linked: Every task or meeting links back to the original email and project so you can trace the context fast.

  • Ask AI, right where you are: Open a thread or file and ask a question; Belt answers, then can create the task, draft the reply, or schedule the meeting without you uploading anything.

The conversations that stood out

Legal and financial services leaders pressed on the same pain points: missed follow-ups, hidden dependencies, and status reporting that eats hours. Belt’s request detection and end-of-day reporting flow resonated with them; capture the ask, schedule it, then close the day with a clean summary that can feed your systems.

What’s next for Belt Desktop

We’re focused on three things:

  1. Deeper on-device flow for messages + attachments when privacy is paramount, with hybrid as the default pattern for scale. (Local + cloud.)

  2. Team visibility that’s humane: clear capacity signals, shared calendars where needed, and personal privacy where it counts.

  3. Fewer handoffs, fewer dropped balls: from request → task → calendar block → report, all linked back to the original thread.

If you saw the demo and thought “finally”

That’s the point. Belt is a productivity app which understands that email, calendar, contacts, and projects are one flow and gives AI the context to help without the prompt-fatigue.
